The most important service that I provide is that I work with you in a highly personalized fashion. Not everyone wants to lift weights...or take measurements...or work-out inside all the time. I find out what activities you like, help you discover new activities that you might also enjoy, and customize a fitness plan suited just for you. Maybe you have always wanted to get out in the country on a road bike, but don't know the first thing about the sport. I will go on a ride with you, educate you about the differences between cycling products, and help you pick out a bike. Plus, I will motivate you to ride that bike.
Yoga practice is at the core of my own wellness practice, as it fosters physical, mental and spiritual growth. For thousands of years, practitioners of yoga have proven that asana (physical postures), pranayama (conscious breathwork), dharana (mental concentration) and a variety of other proven yoga techniques promote a wellspring of benefits -- for people of all backgrounds, religions, age groups and physiques. Blended with cardiovascular and resistance training activities, goal setting, proper motivation and meditation, I firmly believe that yoga practice transforms us into healthier, happier, and more conscious people.
Knowing that it takes most people at least three weeks of doing some new activity before it becomes habit forming, I make a point to have a contact with you--whether it be over the phone, via e-mail, or a visit to your house (or to my studio)--almost every day of your program. I present motivation readings, facilitate goal setting and journaling activities, educate you about interesting wellness issues and continually REMIND you of the benefits that the NEW YOU has to offer. I consider it my most important job to KEEP YOU EXCITED about your new fitness program.
While I am not a nutritionist or a dietician, I can help you monitor your diet, provide you with advice about current nutritional strategies, recommend organic foods (that will enhance your wellness by reducing toxicity), educate you about popular forms of supplementation and TALK with you about breaking bad eating habits...and starting good ones.
